We are looking for a highly organized graduate or undergraduate UVA student for this role. The primary function is to support program logistics and data management through accurate data entry, form completion, maintaining organized systems, and helping community programs run smoothly. The secondary function is to support outreach to the community and securing raffles for a public school educator retreat.
Timeframe: June 1, 2026 – August 28, 2026 (20+ hours per week; with possibility of expansion if student is not taking classes in the summer)
Depending on the Center’s priorities and successful completion of the summer program, extension into the fall may be considered.

Key responsibilities:
- Support data management, logistics, and outreach for:
- Compassionate Schools Project Educator Retreat
- Elements of Peace Facilitator Training & Youth Summer Program
- Other CSC programs for the UVA and Charlottesville Community
- Maintain and update spreadsheets and tracking systems related to community partners and participants.
- Support creation and organization of internal files, emails, and program materials
- Assist with outreach to schools, organizations, and community partners
- Distribute flyers on grounds and in the broader community
- Secures raffle prizes and in-kind donations from local businesses and vendors for the Compassionate Schools Project Educator Retreat
- Support tabling and outreach efforts for CSC community events and K-12 community partnership programs (CSP retreat, Elements of Peace, CARELab)
- Support program prep and implementation logistics (materials setup, surveys, general readiness, procurement)
- Collect, organize, and analyze pre and post program surveys
- Help ensure evaluation processes are completed and impact is documented
- Support program and event implementation, operations, evaluation, and reporting
- Must be available for the Compassionate Schools Project Educator Retreat on July 22 and the Elements of Peace program August 3-7.
Possible responsibilities (depending on need and interest):
- Create visual materials for Elements of Peace and other programs, if needed (e.g. T-shirt design, flyers, teaching materials, social media posts)
- Support program development
- Assist with youth programming
- Learn to lead or co-lead contemplative practices (with mentorship)
- Support participant experience during programs

Compensation:
Undergraduates – $15/hour during your first year with CSC, with a $1/hour increase for each additional year.
Graduates – $20/hour starting during your first year with CSC, with a $1/hour increase for each additional year.
Higher pay rates are available for summer employment.
