Bizzy is an Event Coordinator for the Contemplative Sciences Center, where she supports the Center’s event operations. She is drawn to the Center’s mission of mental well-being, connection, and enhancing human flourishing and is excited to bring her expansive experience to the team. Before coming to the Contemplative Sciences Center, she worked with Event Management in Student Affairs in Newcomb Hall.
Bizzy grew up in Richmond, Virginia before moving to Charlottesville in 2019. After moving here, she became a preschool teacher for 4 years and deeply enjoyed helping young children navigate emotional and physical developmental milestones. In 2023, she moved away from teaching to pursue office work at a local company in town. In 2025, Bizzy accepted a position in Student Affairs Event Management and has been employed with the University ever since. In 2026, she began her academic journey at PVCC and is taking classes part-time to pursue her associate’s degree in liberal arts. She hopes to one day attend the University of Virginia to complete her bachelor’s degree.
In her free time, Bizzy enjoys reading sci-fi and fantasy books, writing, playing video games, and tending to her garden with her partner. She practices contemplation and mindfulness by doing yoga, meditation, and hiking in Shenandoah National Park whenever she can. Bizzy also loves practicing her photography skills with her 35mm film camera and takes it wherever she travels. She lives in Charlottesville with her partner and her cat named Pigeon.
