Yoga for Resilience

Instructor: Erin Clabough

How are the body and the breath connected to how we feel? This class explores how we can use our autonomic nervous system to reach a different state of presence. Each session opens with a form of embodied movement, often a vinyasa flow or something dynamic. Once the body is warm, we shift into breathwork sequences or meditation, drawing on practices refined over centuries in yogic traditions and adapted here for a modern, practical context. No prior yoga or meditation experience is required. This series is for anyone curious about how yoga and breath awareness can support focus, emotional steadiness, and presence. Come with an open mind, ready to move, breathe, and sit with your own experience.

Erin Clabough is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor (Radiant Body Yoga, Kia Miller) and Reiki master teacher who brings a neuroscientistʼs understanding of the brain into her teaching. She holds a PhD from the University of Virginia, where she serves as Professor of Psychology, and has published over 35 peer-reviewed articles on neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration. Erinʼs classes draw on this research to explore how breath, movement, and stillness shape the nervous system, offering students a practice grounded in both contemplative tradition and science. She believes that this work is key to developing the self knowledge and connection we need on and off the mat.
